Iced Lavender London Fog is a delicious london fog drink, or iced tea latte recipe, made with blueberries and lavender syrup. Once you learn how to make this refreshing iced london fog recipe you’ll be making lavender london fog tea lattes at home all the time!
London fog drink
A london fog drink is simply a type of tea latte, or combination of tea and milk, made with earl grey tea.
Typically london fogs are sweetened with vanilla syrup. But this london fog recipe is made with lavender simple syrup instead. I think the lavender plays off the black tea and bergamot flavors of earl grey tea perfectly.
Blueberries are also used in this homemade earl grey latte to add even more flavor and a beautiful lavender color. I just love the juicy flavor that the fresh berries add. And some people even think that it makes this london fog taste like fruit loops!
Serve Blueberry Lavender London Fog tea lattes as an iced tea latte. Or serve hot with either frothed milk or simply a splash of cream.
Ingredients
- Earl grey tea – earl grey tea is a blend of black tea and bergamot oil earl. You can use loose leaf tea or good quality earl grey tea bags. The flavor of earl grey is delicious mixed with creamy milk and floral lavender. But you can substitute any black tea in this tea latte like english breakfast tea or even chai tea.
- Lavender Simple Syrup – a simple syrup made with fresh lavender. Use store bought or homemade lavender simple syrup. Or sweeten the iced tea with classic simple syrup, sugar or honey. Then simply add a few fresh or dried lavender buds to steep with the tea.
- Blueberries – fresh or frozen blueberries add delicious flavor to this recipe. And also a perfect lavender color to the finished iced tea latte. But you can substitute any berries you have on hand! Like blackberries in this Blackberry Inused Earl Grey Iced Tea. Or raspberries in this Raspberry Iced Tea Latte.
- Cream– or you can make tea lattes with whole milk or heavy cream. Or make a london fog with almond milk or coconut milk to serve a london fog without milk recipe. If you’d like it less creamy you can use half tea and half milk.
Step by step instructions
- Make Lavender Simple Syrup up to three weeks in advance.
- Then prepare iced berry earl grey tea. Place blueberries in a large heatproof bowl and smash slightly. And place earl grey tea bags in the blueberries or sprinkle the loose leaf tea over the top. Bring water to a simmer and pour over the berries and tea. Allow to steep for five minutes. Meanwhile, place a fine mesh strainer over an ice filled pitcher. And immediately pour through the strainer and over the ice to cool as soon as the five minutes is up. If using alternative sweetener instead of syrup add to the berries and tea to dissolve in the hot water.
- Sweeten iced blueberry tea with Lavender Simple Syrup and store refrigerated, up to seven days.
- When ready to serve pour cold blueberry tea over ice in a tall glass.
- Top with cream. Stir.
- Top with additional iced blueberry tea to serve layered. And garnish with fresh blueberries or a few sprigs of lavender.
- Enjoy!
