Floral Fizz is a floral foam topped lilac cocktail made with gin, fruit juice, lilac syrup, soda water and an egg white.

Lilac cocktail recipe
This lilac cocktail recipe is like a floral gin fizz made with an egg white to create a luscious cappuccino like foam on top.
The addition of the egg white in the cocktail makes it technically more of a silver fizz recipe. Rather than a classic gin fizz.
But there are so many different fizz cocktail variations. And they all have one thing in common – they’re sweet, creamy, refreshing and delicious!
Ingredients
- Lilac syrup – this lilac syrup cocktail can be made with other floral simple syrups instead. The lilac syrup has a very mild floral flavor. But lavender, elderflower or other floral syrup can be used instead.
- Cranberry juice – good quality cranberry products like 100% cranberry juice or classic Ocean Spray cranberry cocktail add a nice color and tart flavor.
- Pineapple juice – pineapple juice adds a tropical flavor and adds to the lilac color when combined with the cranberry juice.
- Gin – a floral gin like Hendricks or Empress 1908 adds even more floral botanical flavor to the cocktail. But any gin you have on hand can be used. Or you can substitute vodka instead.
- Egg white – egg white cocktails have a creamy texture that can not be replicated without it. But you can omit the egg white and the preliminary dry shake and still have a delicious floral lilac cocktail.
- Soda water – a splash of sparkling water adds to the foamy top. And gives the lilac cocktail a bit of bubbly fizz. But you can still make this floral fizz without soda water and will still be refreshing and packed with springy floral flavor.
Instructions
- Add all ingredients except soda water to an empty cocktail shaker. Do not add ice.
- Vigorously dry shake cocktail for at least 30 seconds so that the egg white mixes in completely and becomes super foamy and meringue like.
- Then add ice to shaker and shake again for at least 30 seconds.
- Add a splash of soda water in the bottom of a short glass. And optionally, add a large ice cube in the middle.
- Strain lilac cocktail over the club soda and watch the drink fizz and create lilac foam layer.
- Place a lilac blossom, or other edible flower, on the ice cube to garnish if you’d like. Or serve as is.
- Enjoy!
