Orange creamsicle cocktail

Like an orange creamsicle or dreamsicle this orange cocktail is super creamy with a nice bright orange flavor. But unlike most orange creamsicle cocktail recipes this orange cocktail is made with coconut milk and coconut rum instead of dairy like ice cream and whipping cream.

There’s also a bit of pineapple juice and white rum which gives it a bit of rum punch or mai tai vibes.

Hence the name the Orange Dream! It’s the perfect creamsicle cocktail to whip up at home while dreaming of tropical vacations with fresh squeezed orange juice mornings and rum punch filled afternoons.

Ingredients

  • Orange juice – fresh pressed orange juice is ideal, but any orange juice can be used.
  • Pineapple juice – canned or fresh squeezed pineapple.
  • Coconut milk – full fat canned coconut milk or unsweetened coconut milk in a carton like you would use for drinking.
  • Coconut rum – Malibu rum or similar coconut flavored rum or vodka can be substituted.
  • White rum – clear white rum. Or make a creamsicle cocktail with vodka instead using vanilla vodka or plain vodka.
  • Orange liqueur – Grand Marnier or substitute Triple Sec or Cointreau.

Step by step instructions

  1. Add fruit juices, coconut milk, coconut rum, white rum and orange liqueur to a shaker.
  2. Fill with ice.
  3. Shake to chill.
  4. Strain into a glass.
  5. Garnish, serve and enjoy!

How to garnish

This creamy orange martini recipe is delicious and beautiful served plain in a coupe glass or martini glass. But you can also garnish it in any so many different ways to signal the tropical inspired flavors inside.

Try a shaved coconut rim garnish, float an orange slice on top, stick a citrus peel to the side, or place a pineapple leaf on the top. Or try any combination of them! Like using a pineapple leaf to attach the citrus peel to the rim, as shown.
