Harvest Cider Whiskey Spritz with the warming flavors of ginger and apples is an easy and flavorful cocktail to transition into Fall.
Made with my favorite not too sweet hard apple cider, rye whiskey and a few other amazing ingredients this is the perfect drink for any fall celebration… or just to warm you up on a crisp evening!
Perfect way to warm up in fall
Harvest Cider Whiskey Spritz with spicy whiskey and ginger beer, sweet unfiltered apple juice, dry hard cider, and a topping of club soda hints at the warmth and coziness of whiskey without being an all-up-in-your-face-whiskey-on-rocks style.
In the summer I’m all about light cocktails full of fresh fruit and bubbles. Super refreshing and usually vodka, rum or white wine based. As the weather gets crisper I find myself turning to cocktails that will warm me up with a bit of richness.
What I know of whiskey comes from my whiskey drinking family. Grandpa drinks his with lemon lime soda, Dad with ginger ale and over Christmas we mix it with egg nog topped with root beer. I enjoy whiskey during the holidays, but it has never been something that I stock in the liquor cabinet to mix up for everyday occasions or dinner parties. This year something made me want to create my own relationship with whiskey.
With so many different whiskeys, it’s hard to know which one to try, but after a short quiz on Whiskey5.com I was pointed in the right direction.
Whiskey5 gives you 5 different flavors options and asks you to discover your favorite flavor. Choose two and adjust the toggles to set their intensities.
After I hit ‘get results’ Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye was suggested for me. Whiskey5 also gave a list of other options with my desired spicy-sweet flavor profile.
Lucky for me Crown Royal Northern Harvest Rye is readily available at my local store and the fruity, spicy flavor was perfect for the hard cider whiskey cocktail I was planning.
Perfectly sweet, a little spicy, a lot sparkly and super easy to mix up. This recipe can easily be quadrupled. So mix up a big pitcher and celebrate cooler temps and warmer wardrobes with a group of your favorite people.

What is dry hard cinder? Maybe a brand name so I know what I’m shopping for! I love like this recipe and can’t wait to taste it.

I’m glad you like the sound of it! It is so good. Dry hard cider is just apple cider that has been fermented and contains alcohol. The ‘dry’ just refers to the fact that it’s unsweet or a less sweet version. There are some very sweet and readily available ciders on the market, but if you can find one that is less sweet it would be best here. You could for sure just substitute the sweeter hard cider or just use more apple juice for a less strong version. Hope that helps! Can’t wait to hear what you think of the cocktail once you make it. Cheers!

Oh and I have a few favorite brands of hard cider.. Samuel Smith is delicious and so are Finnriver, Snowdrift but may be a bit harder to find outside of Washington State. Crispin, Ace, STella Artois and Smith and Forge are most likely the easiest to find everywhere. Hope that helps!
