Celebrate National Rosé Day with a Sweet Spicy Sparkling Rosé Watermelon Margarita!
The fresh, sweet flavor of homemade watermelon juice combined with tart lime and lightly spicy jalapeño-infused tequila. Perfect when topped off with a generous pour of Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé.
A Classic Margarita Recipe with Some Twists
Everything that’s great about a classic lime margarita on the rocks with a few unexpected twists! This Spicy Rosé Watermelon Margarita has all the elements to make a great cocktail. And it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites!
Santa Margherita’s Sparkling Rosé adds a bit of sweetness and tons of sparkle to this take on the classic margarita. Watermelon juice is a great swap for the orange liquor typically in margaritas – it lends amazing fresh flavor and a bit of sweetness. Jalapeño tequila contrasts the sweetness with a bit of lingering spice. All of which just invites you to take another sip!
Yep, this margarita recipe is a keeper.
How to Make Spicy Rosé Watermelon Margaritas
This recipe may seem fancy, but it’s super easy to make from just a handful of ingredients – even the homemade watermelon juice and jalapeño tequila are very simple to whip up.
The watermelon juice recipe calls for one ingredient – watermelon. ? Simply blend a small seedless watermelon (or any watermelon you have) until smooth and pour through a fine mesh strainer. Voilà! Fresh, vibrant pink watermelon juice.
To make jalapeño tequila, simply add fresh jalapeño slices to tequila and leave to infuse overnight. I like to infuse small amounts in jars.
Santa Margherita
Recently, I picked up a few bottles of Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio. And brought all the mixings for these watermelon margaritas to the beach to celebrate my best friend’s 40th birthday.
I love to give Santa Margherita wines as gifts! Easily found at your local Kroger, drugstores, grocery stores and supercenters I know that no matter where I’m heading I can easily swing in to the store and find the high quality, affordable wine I’m looking for. I also love how versatile it is to gift wine! If the birthday girl (or boy) is feeling it, they can pop open the bottle to share right away (bonus!) or they can stash it away and hopefully invite you back for a glass 😉 Or, even better pick up a few bottles to enjoy now and later!
Santa Margherita wineries are sustainable, eco-friendly, vegan-friendly and energy efficient, operating their company with consideration of environmental, economic and social impact at the core of every facet of operations. But, aside from that – their wines are elegant, attainable and ABSO-freakin-LUTELY delicious!
The Pinot Grigio is a lovely easy-drinking, well balanced white wine. Perfectly pairs with everything from eggs at brunch, cheese during happy hour and chocolate with dessert – thus a staple for girls’ weekend!
Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé is light and refreshing. Perfect straight from the glass or mixed into a delicious cocktail, like the Sweet + Spicy Sparkling Rose Watermelon Margarita!
We enjoyed a few of these fresh, fruity fizzy pink cocktails at the beach and I’m also mixing them up again this week to celebrate National Rosé Day! One flavorful sip, and you’ll be finding excuses to whip them all the time, too!

This sounds like the perfect summer drink! I love all the ingredients – fresh watermelon juice, lime, and jalapeno-infused tequila? Even better with that bit of sparkle and such a beautiful color. I’m going to serve this at a barbecue this weekend.
