A spicy margarita recipe for Cinco de Mayo, taco Tuesday, thirsty Thursday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, camping, festivals, barbecues or anytime.
The perfect summer cocktail
Made from a mix of mango puree, fresh mango, lime juice, liquor and habanero infused tequila a Mango Habanero Margarita is just the type of spicy cocktail that begs you to continue enjoying more! Sweet, spicy, fruity and super delicious!
Mix them up ahead of time for summer parties and camping trips. Or mix individual glasses whenever you feel like it. It’s only. a few ingredients and a quick mix.
Ingredients
- Habanero infused tequila
- Fresh mangoes – are so delicious mixed into cocktails like this and these Spicy Mango Moscow Mules.
- Mango nectar- can be found in the aisle with shelf stable juices (non- refrigerated) or if your store has one, look in the Mexican food section.
- Fresh limes – I always suggest using fresh lime juice over the stuff that comes in a bottle – even if it says pure lime juice it really does not taste the same as fresh. And for the huge reward, why not take the time to juice your own? Presqueezed quality lime juice or a good quality bottle limeade could be substituted in a pinch.
- Triple sec – a sweet orange flavored liquor, a cheaper version of Cointreau or Grand Marnier.
- Optional – splash of club soda to give it a little fizz.
Step by step instructions
- Infuse tequila with habaneros at least one day ahead of time.
- Remove mango from core and peel. Then blend or food process fresh mango until smooth, adding mango puree as needed to blend.
- Pour in pitcher with remaining mango nectar, triple sec and lime juice.
- Stir in tequila, however much you desire!
- Garnish glasses with a salted rim or mix tajin and spicy chili flakes into salt for even extra kick.
- Add ice and pour Mango Habanero Margarita mix over ice.
- Garnish with a spicy dipped mango spear or a simple lime wedge.
- Enjoy!
Yield
This recipe makes enough for 8 small drinks, or 4 good size glasses.
How to serve
To serve margaritas at parties set the pitcher of premixed margaritas next to an extra bottle of icy tequila. So that anyone who desires their refreshments a little stiffer can float some more tequila on top. It’s also nice to avoid adding water to the pitcher of margaritas so that they don’t get watered down as the ice melts. Instead leaveI also a bucket of ice nearby. But if you know you are serving a group of thirsty ladies or fellas who will slurp down a pitcher before the ice melts, ice away. Or make ice cubes from the extra mango nectar and lime juice to keep the pitcher cold without watering it down.
To bring mango margaritas camping store and pack the mango juice/puree, lime juice, and infused tequila separately. Then mix up single glasses throughout the day whenever the craving hits or some thirty stranger walks by 😉 Chances are if you’ve been to the same music festival or campground as me, you’ve had a Fresh Flavorful Mango Habanero Margaritas. As I run out of ingredients or get tired of mixing {or my mixing abilities decline} , I just pull out some premade limeade to mix with the mango nectar and infused tequila. It’s almost as yummy and a lot less work.
