- Cool water ensures the eggs and water come to temperature at the same time for even cooking.
Step by step instructions
- Place eggs in a large saucepan in a single layer.
- Cover with cold water.
- Place over high heat and bring to a rapid boil. Boil 1 minute.
- Turn burner off and cover pan. Leave eggs in covered pan on warm burner for 15 minutes for hard boiled eggs with perfectly set whites and evenly cooked through yolks. Adjust time as desired for different doneness.
- Drain.
- Place eggs in bowl of ice water to cool.
- Crack, peel and enjoy!
