1cupsalted butter8 ounces
2cupsbrown sugardark or light brown sugar
2teaspoonsvanilla extract
2teaspoonsground cinnamon
2teaspoonsground cloves
1teaspoonground nutmeg
¼teaspoonground cardamom
⅛teaspoonfine salt
⅛teaspoonblack pepper
6cupsspiced rum
18cupswaterhot
Instructions
Up to a month in advance make the Chai Hot Buttered Rum Mix. In mixing bowl, combine butter, vanilla extract, sugar, spices and salt. Beat until well combined. Store tightly covered, refrigerated, until ready to use.
1 cup salted butter, 2 cups brown sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ground cloves, 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom, ⅛ teaspoon fine salt, ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
When ready to serve stir hot water into hot buttered rum mix with rum.
6 cups spiced rum, 18 cups water
Serve in individual mugs topped with whipped cream or ice cream and a sprinkle of of cinnamon or nutmeg.
