Pacific Northwest Mount Baker High School senior session: Emily Treadaway class of 2018
Nooksack River Valley, Whatcom County WA photography
I have been friends with a Emily’s mom for years and have had the pleasure of watching her grow from a young elementary student to the responsible, beautiful, free spirit she is today.
I was honored when she asked me to take the photos that commemorate this important stepping stone of her life.
My daughter will starting her Freshmen year soon, so those years are something I’ve been thinking about recently.
The two words that come to mind are wild and carefree.
It’s this free spirit that inspired Emily’s pictures.
Portraits should be a reflection of not only the person in the picture but also their unique interests and traits at an exact point in life.
As someone who moved away from my hometown after high school whenever I return there are areas that hold a certain nostalgia and transport me right back.
I tried to capture some of the appeal of the beautiful hometown nostalgia for Emily in her senior portraits.
With such a gorgeous young woman and the stunning scenery of the Nooksack River Valley in Van Zandt, WA it wasn’t hard to do.
Oh, to be seventeen again.
